Held on Epsom Handicap Day, the Flight Stakes is one of an incredible seven Group status races on the meeting’s bumper race-card which is headlined by the Group 1 Epsom Handicap (1600m).
With so many quality races on the schedule, this is one of the premier race days held at Randwick and provides punters with a range of exciting betting opportunities including markets open other features such as the Group 1 The Metropolitan (2400m) and the Group 1 Spring Champion Stakes (2000m).
Flight Stakes Punting Guide
When looking for an early guide for betting on the Flight Stakes, looking at the form of runners in earlier spring carnival fillies races including the Group 3 Silver Shadow Stakes (1200m) at Warwick Farm in August, the Group 2 Furious Stakes (1400m) in September and the Group 2 Tea Rose Stakes (1500m) at Rosehill can give punters an excellent heads-up in the online betting markets.
The Tea Rose Stakes has been the best guide to the Flight Stakes in recent years with nine of the past 11 Flight Stakes winners having previously finished in the top three in the Tea Rose including More Joyous (2009) and Samantha Miss (2008) who both took out the double.
The Flight Stakes is also the final leg of the Princess Series of races.
The higher quality fillies that run in the Flight Stakes may continue their spring campaigns by heading interstate to Melbourne for three-year-old races such as the Group 1 Coolmore Stakes (1200m) on Victoria Derby Day during the Melbourne Cup Carnival at Flemington.
The best Flight Stakes betting tip is to avoid the TAB and enjoy better odds and ultimately higher payouts by placing your wagers at a trusted online bookmaker such as SportsBet or IASbet.
