Flights Stakes 2013 Attracts Just 7 Nominations

Nominations have been taken for the Group 1 Flight Stakes, which will take place at Royal Randwick Racecourse this Saturday October 5, 2013.

Just seven fillies have been nominated for the 2013 Flight Stakes, including Champagne Cath.

Champagne Cath has won two of her five race starts and has earned more than $126,000 in prize money during her horse racing career.

The three-year-old won her most recent start in the Listed Reginald Allen Quality at Rosehill Gardens Racecourse last weekend.

Champagne Cath is trained at Rosehill by Chris Waller and is also nominated for the Group 1 Thousand Guineas on October 16, 2013.

Also included in the 2013 Flight Stakes nominations is Guelph.

Guelph has won five of his nine race starts and has earned more than $1.03 million in prize money during his horse racing career.

The Exceed And Excel filly finished second in the Group 2 Furious Stakes first-up before winning the Group 2 Tea Rose Stakes by almost two lengths last start.

Guelph already has two Group 1 titles to her name and will be looking to claim another when she runs in the 2013 Flight Stakes this weekend.

The speedy galloper is trained at Warwick Farm by Peter Snowden and will go into the 2013 Flight Stakes third-up this spring.
