Omei Sword has been a strong performer throughout her entire racing career so far, but has undoubtedly returned to competition this season in her best condition to date.

Running a close second in the Group 2 Magic Night Stakes (1200m) in March most notably through her maiden campaign, the High Chaparral filly resumed this time for a dominant win in the Group 2 Silver Shadow Stakes (1200m) on August 20th.

Having run on for second in the Group 1 Golden Rose (1400m) last time out on September 10th, Omei Sword will relish a return to fillies’ company and a step up to a mile in the Flight Stakes 2016.

Yankee Rose is the only Group 1 winner confirmed in the Flight Stakes field, and the filly is more than worth consideration for a bet at current $3.80 odds.

Yankee Rose debuted to racing for a classy win in the Lightbridge Plate (1100m) at Rosehill on October 31st last year, before repeating the dose in the Golden Gift (1100m) on November 21st.

Given little chance of success in the Group 1 Golden Slipper (1200m) first-up this time, the All American filly produced a huge turn of foot to run a close second to Capitalist, before ending her season with a strong win in the Group 1 ATC Sires’ Produce Stakes (1400m).

Yankee Rose is sure to have taken plenty of benefit from her first-up run for sixth in the Golden Rose and has trialled well in the lead-up to the Flight Stakes.

Foxplay and Global Glamour have each produced strong performances leading into Saturday’s Group 1 feature, and the pair remain locked on the third line of 2016 Flight Stakes betting markets at $8 quotes.

Kept largely to minor races through the autumn and winter of this year, Foxplay resumed this time for success in the Group 2 Furious Stakes (1200m) before repeating the dose in the Group 2 Tea Rose Stakes (1400m) last time out on September 17th.

Global Glamour resumed this time for third in the Furious Stakes and while unlucky to be held up for a run in the Tea Rose Stakes last time, managed to hit the line well for a credible sixth.

The 2016 Flight Stakes field and barrier draw is due to be completed and released by midday, Wednesday (September 28th).
